Balance & Strength
About as far as you can get from the ocean in the UK. But if you can’t make it to the beach the forest is a great place to bring some balance into your surfing training.
There are only four exercises in this workout. We recommend you perform them with a timer for at least 60 seconds each with 10 seconds rest. Mason is so old he just does what he pleases on the day but always works to fatigue.
1. Paddle Outs
You need a resistance band for this. Perform a swimming stroke using the raised arm as an anchor point for the downward pull. This is a tricky exercise to master but works really well to strengthen the shoulders when you get it right. Keep the movement slow and controlled.
2. Shoulder Press
Kneeling on the Rooboard (single pad) forces the core muscles to engage to maintain stability.
3. Pop Ups
Ideally you would do these from a belly on the ground position but Mason didn’t want to lie in the dirt. Use the pads as a guideline for your landing positioning. You can also vary the width of the pads to replicate your hand positioning on your board.
4. Balance Squats
One of the unique design features of the Rooboard is that you can use the deck with the pads or the pads on their own for balance exercises. This means you can practice wide or narrow stance.
Transform your core and postural strength, balance, stability and fitness with a single product. Designed by ocean deprived Londoner Mason Gilmour-Platt to stay in shape for surfing the Rooboard combines the functionality of many pieces of fitness equipment in a single portable package.
Current users of the Rooboard include surfers, city workers, professional boxers, MMA fighters and members of the British Combined Services Disabled Ski Team. These very early stage Rooboarders have seen huge gains in their stability, agility and postural strength.
The instability element forces the core and stabiliser muscles to engage at all times which in turn increases the intensity of the exercises. This is the secret to the performance of the Rooboard and means you have a shorter workout session for enhanced results.
Dont let personal trainers keep this little gem to themselves. The Rooboard has been designed for all fitness levels and abilities. It can be used in almost any location and is probably the only truly portable balance board on the market.
One of Londons best kept secrets. The Rooboard™ is being used by entrepreneurs and business leaders alike to boost productivity by shortening their workout times and increasing physical gains.
The compact size and unique design features enable the Rooboard to be used in almost any location at any time of day. These short muscle hacks have positively disrupted the way many people approach their fitness training and schedule their workout sessions.
