Conquer Your Hill
Hill sprints are one of the fastest ways of building explosive leg power and burning body fat quickly. They also increase speed and encourage correct technique because of the inclined surface. You lean forward as you sprint, which is the correct acceleration mechanic that you would use when sprinting on a flat surface.
Hills sprints also use an aggressive arm and shoulder action. This is needed to reach your top acceleration point. You cannot sprint fast up a hill without this aggressive arm action. Try it with your arms relaxed by your sides and you will immediately see the difference.
This pumped up arm action helps to build the shoulder strength and upper-body drive needed to sprint correctly on a flat surface.
Its also fun to exercise outdoors and of course its free!
I added some burpees to my hill sprints to increase explosive leg power and add another upper body strength element. This is a great way to get lean quickly.
