Balance Squat Fitness
Narrow squats (feet together) as opposed to wide squats help to increase strength, balance and stability.
The Rooboard can be used for narrow squats, single leg squats and loaded squats. Use these three variations for dynamic balance and strength training.
By changing the foot positioning we isolate different areas of the major leg muscles; the quadriceps, gluteus maximus and gastrocnemius.
The Rooboard was created to develop active and balanced strength and a strong powerful lower body for sports and active activities. Powerful leg muscles that are also agile and flexible are a must for surfing and other balance sports.
Squats for Leg Strength, Toning and Balance
Use this lower body bodyweight workout for balance, agility and dynamic leg strength.
Use a timer set at:
30 seconds work
10 seconds rest
Repeat the routine three times. If your legs are not screaming — repeat again!
Squats engage the core muscles, tighten and lift the butt and strengthen the quadriceps, hamstrings and calf muscles.
By adding the Rooboard for a balance component, squats and lunges become powerful leg strengthening exercises to increase balance, stability and agility.
The bodyweight loaded squat puts the majority of the resistance on a single leg. Using the Rooboard balance board adds a dynamic element.
This is an excellent exercise to increase strength, power, balance and stability.
Use the bodyweight loaded squat to train all the major leg muscles.
The size and functionality of the Rooboard means you can train almost anywhere – even in the office. From targeted muscular training, to HIIT workouts, rehabilitation and sports specific training, the Rooboard brings many different pieces of fitness equipment together in one package.
Designed in the United Kingdom by Mason Gilmour DipSpSt, a former triathlete, fitness trainer, health club manager and life-long surfer. The Rooboard was created to fulfil specific training requirements within tight parameters. These being, it had to produce solid results, be extremely durable (in order to take a thrashing) and be easily transportable.
The Rooboard was designed to be portable and to be used in almost any location. You can exercise in the office, at home, outdoors or in the gym. They are perfect for commuters and those who use a standing desk.
Because your workout area is so small when using a Rooboard the places you can train is only limited by your imagination. We have been told of the Rooboard being used in stairwells in the workplace, in airports during long haul layovers and even on a plane to improve circulation.
The Rooboard was born out of a passion to increase fitness, strength and balance. It had to increase muscular symmetry and performance for action sports like surfing, skating and skiing. And, it had to fit busy proactive lifestyles, including those cheeky moments when you want to workout quickly and discreetly.
It has been a wonderful fitness and start-up journey for us and we hope the Rooboard can also enhance your lifestyle as it has for many others.
A portion of revenue from every Rooboard sold is donated to SurfAid.
